S+R: A Romantic moody proposal
Love is in the air, and we can’t wait to share!!
‘Tis the season for “engagement season”, and we are excited to share this gorgeous proposal featuring Savanah + Rebecca.

Who doesn’t love a deep red color palate to set a romantic and moody landscape for the perfect proposal!?
This proposal was just that!
Setting the scene
We love when clients reach out to us from out of town. Planning a little “get away trip” with a big surprise, this is something our client Savanah wanted for her proposal.
When any of our clients are traveling in from out of town, we want to make them feel welcome and help suggest great places to stay, eat, and visit during their stay to help bring an experience beyond their big proposal moment.
The Details
Savanah had a vision, and we made sure to listen as we brought that vision to life! One of our past instagram posts caught her eye featuring a moody red floral piece crafted by Poppy Belle Floral Design located in Durham NC. We took inspiration from this and designed something new specifically for her in the color pallet she desired.
Wanting the comfort of an indoor location, our team began connecting with our venue partners. The best fit for this proposal was at The Upstairs, located at Gravy (you guessed it, upstairs, above their main dining area) in downtown Raleigh. It is a gorgeous white brick space with different seating options, a bar, and it also overlooks their outdoor space Jiddi. This is a wonderful venue perfect for an intimate event (such as a proposal!), and with a superb team!
The team was so helpful they even aided in the cover story! When Savanah and Rebecca arrived, they were greeted by the hostess to check- in for their “6:00pm dinner reservation”. As previously planned with the team, once the hostess heard their names they knew instead of seating them in the dining room they were to guide them upstairs to be seated. The hostess informed them that they had to start seating upstairs due to being “at capacity”. So unaware and seemingly unphased, they headed upstairs!
The Proposal
The moment is here, hand in hand, Savanah and Rebecca begin walking up the stairs. Rebecca has no idea what she is about to walk up to (aside from a normal dinner reservation). Our team is hiding, but luckily could see in the reflection, both of their reactions! The wonderful photographer, Donnell Perry, was there to capture it all. Both Sanavah and Rebecca were in awe.
Savanah leads Rebecca past their two personalized signs, through an ambient candle aisle and up to their lush floral backdrops adorned with deep red blooms and greenery. Using our team's gold arch stands, Amy with Poppy Belle Designs mastered the floral arrangements attached.
Savanah got to the front of the floral stands, got down on one knee, and asked Rebecca to marry her. And she said YES!!
It was truly an honor to be a part of this special moment for Savanah and Rebecca, and so many congratulations to the newly engaged couple!
