Romantic Rose Garden Proposal
Show of hands, how many of you on a gorgeous starry night, wished upon a star for a special wish to come true?
Our client Alex made a very special wish upon a star which was the perfect set up for a beautiful and romantic proposal at the Raleigh Rose Garden.
Pre Planning
Alex reached out to us to help support his proposal for his girlfriend Maria. He was so ecstatic and full of joy and excitement to take this next step. Alex gave wonderful details about their relationship that helped us build the perfect idea vision which paired with the romantic setting Alex knew he wanted for his proposal.
Setting the Scene
As mentioned, we all have probably made a wish under the night sky on a shooting star, but what about making a wish upon a star at Disney?
Alex and Maria shared many trips together to Disney with their family. And on this one special night at Disney, Alex decided to wish upon a star, and he wished for that one day that he and Maria would be married.
While holding this special wish he made throughout their relationship, Alex knew having stars as a key element in this proposal was very important. We landed on a design that incorporated a romantic and starry setting!
The Details
Finalized on our idea vision, the Heart and Hand team landed on a location that would equally provide a romantic environment for this proposal. We landed at the Raleigh Rose Garden. A beautiful garden filled with blooming roses.
Our team knew we wanted to have this located in the center open area of the rose garden to have the proposal surrounded by gorgeous roses. There was the covered overhang which was going to serve as our plan b in case it rained. Luckily, it did not rain that day, but it absolutely did the night prior. As perfect as the day was, the ground, not so much... The downpours of the day prior left the grass very wet and muddy.
Knowing our client was going to get down on one knee, we decided to use the covered overhang as the location within the garden to provide a nice dry area for the couple to share this moment.
We lined the walkway aisle with 2 personalized signs, followed by gold star bursts on each side, and small gold floral vessels. At the base of the proposal was an arbor with a personalized hand lettered acrylic sign, navy drapery, and at the sides a single rose in a few glass vessels (a subtle nod to their connection to Disney). We also had elevated stands that held special photos of the couple, and a few floral arrangements. A starry proposal was ready for the happy couple!
The Proposal
Alex and Maria were traveling from out of town, so our team provided them a map and a detailed description of the grounds to ensure Alex knew the precise location of his proposal spot.
When they arrived, hand in hand, they walked down the wooden stair trail and into the garden. Walking through an aisle of roses, Alex led Maria into the proposal set up.
With such a special moment already, Alex prepared a very sweet and heartfelt speech for Maria which he read to her. At the end, he got down on one knee and asked the big question!!
Consumed by joy, Alex and Maria shared this flourishing moment with the roses in the garden for a few couple photos, and then made their way to dinner with their family to celebrate as an engaged couple!
