A Farmers Market Proposal

Who doesn’t love going to the local farmers market filled with fresh fruit, flowers, local honey and jams?!

Our clients Arohan and Alexa couldn’t agree more, in fact they go almost every week together. So for their proposal, we made their very own private farmers market!

Pre Planning

When Arohan connected with our team, he was so excited to make this next step with Alexa. After chatting with us, he knew he wanted to make this proposal something truly special and unique just for them, and needed some lending hands to make it all happen. So our custom proposal was the best fit for providing that personalized touch.

When we gathered details with Arohan, he mentioned that they go to the Farmers Market every week together and enjoy that tradition together. We loved that element they share, so we decided to design our proposal from that, a personal farmers market. One that was consumed by love!

Setting The Scene

We knew that this proposal setting would be perfect if it could be within lush greenery and wildflowers, so we decided on JC Raulston Arboretum as the location. Not to mention it had an adorable white gazebo for shade and seating to add to the lure of this setting.

This little garden, tucked within the arboretum provided all of the essentials for this exciting moment.

The Details

Per usual, as it is in the warmer months of North Carolina, there was a chance of rain that day. Our team monitored the weather the entire week and kept our plan as Plan A in the gardens (but with our solid plan B in our pockets of course!). Luckily as we had hoped, the rain held off for us and brought a gorgeous sunny day.

While the gorgeous sunshine was a well received condition vs the potential rain we could have had, it was hot! Quite hot! To bring a little relief to that element (but most importantly provide a delicious sweet treat that fit the theme and design of this proposal perfectly) we incorporated one of our favorites, Sweet Water Ices.

Our other “farmers market booths” consisted of a fresh produce and bakery stand and well as a pick your own fresh florals stand! You may also notice that there is a box set of teas, this is a little nod to their first date together which was at a tea shop.

The Proposal

Arohan and Alexa walked through the floral arch’s into their “secret garden” and they were greeted by two custom signs at the entry of their market. As they walked in, the farmers market theme is an automatic hit, but the area that they both had their eyes on most was the personalized burlap backdrop reading, “Let’s Get Married Nerd!”. We love a good personalized proposal banner for our custom proposals, but truly love the ones that speak to our clients personalities and humor!

As Arohan and Alexa get to their proposal area, Arohan gets down on one knee, and with an incredibly unique and beautiful ring box (that opens as a camera lens, they are both photographers-adorable!), asked the big question!! With a gleeful yes, the two enjoy their ices, florals, fresh produce, and more importantly this time together in their little farmers market…

We know they will be at the market next week, but we hope this particular trip to the market will be one they will always remember.

Congratulations Arohan and Alexa, we are so honored to have been a part of your special day together!
