Marshall Park Fountain Proposal
We are still giddy about this proposal in Charlotte, NC. Vashon reached out to our team with so much enthusiasm it was impossible not to be swept up in all the excitement!
Pre-Planning:
When Vashon contacted our team he was ready and we mean READY to pop the question. I am sure if we could have pulled this together in a day he would have jumped at the opportunity to propose to Chankata. We had so much information about the couple we immediately began brainstorming everything we could incorporate to make this something truly special.
Setting the Scene:
Vashon described Chankata's style as modern, chic and formal. We love when partners can really communicate their significant other's style. It helps us head in the right direction when we think of design. He also wanted to incorporate the Charlotte skyline, so a chic modern venue with a rooftop was the ticket! We called, emailed, researched and researched some more for the perfect rooftop, but in the end these venues didn't give us the freedom to really set the scene as we and Vashon imagined. A new idea was born, we found a few public areas where we could dream big with our proposal set-up and an uptown fountain location was exactly what we needed. The Marshall Park Fountain was easy to find, walkthrough, had a beautiful setting and of course our Charlotte skyline backdrop.
The Details:
When Vashon shared more about him and Chankata we learned they really like to have fun together, are huge pizza lovers and Vashon has so many ideas for their future. We loved hearing all of the things they wanted to accomplish together so made this the highlight of their proposal details.
We highlighted 4 important goals Vashon had for their future:
1) Own their own trucking business
2) Take a trip to Africa
3) Move to Pooler, Georgia
4) Marry the Love of his life!
Each stop along the proposal aisle incorporated a symbol of each goal with a modern acrylic note that described each piece. Chankata loves the color blue and we knew acrylic pieces and modern stands would fit into her modern and chic side!
The Proposal:
One very important part of the proposal was family. Not only did Vashon want to incorporate their daughter, but he wanted the whole family involved in the celebration.
As the couple walked into the park we had the whole family line up in front of the proposal set-up, each family member held a calla lily. As they approached, the family moved aside for the big reveal as Vashon took Chankata to each area and down the aisle to get down on one knee.
We are forever grateful we get to work for and with such amazing clients to make a magical day that will last a lifetime. Congratulations to Vashon + Chankata, we wish you a lifetime of happiness. Thank you for letting us be a little part in your extraordinary journey together!
