5 Must Do’s Before You Propose

Proposing to your significant other can be a little overwhelming. What do you do? Where do you start?

We hear this a lot from our clients and are here to help. Take a look at our 5 must-dos for an unforgettable marriage proposal!

1. Purchase the Ring

Whether it be the exact engagement ring you two found together or not a diamond ring at all. Make sure before you propose, you find the perfect thing to propose with. There isn't anything more awkward than asking the most important person in your life to be with you forever and not know how to seal the deal after they say "Yes!".

2. Think of a Date

Thinking of the right time to get engaged is just as important as how you propose. Brainstorm any significant dates for either of your or you two as a couple. Anniversaries, birthdays, holidays are all great reasons to do something special without tipping off your significant other. According to Wedding Wire December is the most popular month for marriage proposals.

3. Hire a Wedding Proposal Planner

Lucky for you, you're in the right place to find the perfect wedding proposal planners with multiple services to suit your needs. Jaw dropping proposals are some of the most shared; and delightfully so when asked "So, how did he propose?". Proposal planners can not only help you with ideas, but they can also make your idea come to life and give extra heartfelt and intimate detail that wasn't thought of. With exclusive deals and partnerships with venues, photographers, rentals etc. they take the worry of "will they find out?", "is the idea just right?", “when should I get down on one knee?" and let you focus on what's most important, you soon to be fiancé!

4. Make it Meaningful

Think of some sentimental details to incorporate. Don't sweat a script, but focus on the overall ideas. This is the perfect place to share what's in your heart. Consider if they would appreciate a public or a private proposal. Not everyone wants to be in the center of Time Square, but a quiet proposal with just the two of you may not be ideal either. If you do decide public is the way to go, consider permits for anything you would like to set- up (this is exactly what we would be able to help with!).

5. Timing is everything

We're not just thinking about when to get down on one knee. It is more complex than that. Where is your significant other coming from, literally. If you have an ideal time you want to pop the question, but they are flying in from out of town or happened to take a quick run that day, they may be focused on a shower than anything else. Figure out their schedule and think of a back up plan, weather and traffic are things you don't have in your control, but with a back-up plan you'll already have your go-to option!
