Anthony + Anna’s Flower Field Proposal

This blooming springtime proposal still has us in awe of nature! Anthony contacted our team with so much passion and excitement. We were overjoyed to be a part of this adorable couple's engagement.

Pre-Planning:

When Anthony contacted our team, his excitement was contagious, we couldn't wait to start brainstorming. He shared his love story with us and included so many details that helped us make his proposal so unique.

Setting the Scene:

Anthony, currently living in North Carolina, made plans for Anna and his family to visit Raleigh from New Jersey for the weekend. A perfect opportunity to pop the question!

Our H+H team presented Dorothea Dix Park as the perfect setting for Anthony's proposal. The specific spot had a beautiful tree with lush purple blooms creating one dreamy backdrop.

Fast-forward to a week before proposal day, Mother Nature reminded us that she calls the shots. With a few heavy downpours and a surprise overnight freeze, those beautiful blooms dropped and  brought us back to square one. Being only days away from the proposal, it was time to freak out, right!? NO WAY! Our team always has a Plan B and circled back to the other locations we originally considered in Dix Park. As we revisited the park, a gorgeous wild flower field sprouted up overnight as if it was meant for Anthony's proposal. Without hesitation, he too knew this spot was meant to be.

The Details:

Anthony lovingly described Anna as a bit of a "bookworm" and a lover of Shakespeare. The personal details about Anna inspired the idea to create a romantic setting with feminine details and a nod to the Elizabethan era. Surrounded by wild florals and overlooking the Raleigh skyline, a hand-lettered quote written on canvas flowed in the wind and created their backdrop. The quote was specifically picked out by Anthony from one of Anna's favorite books, Les Misérables. The display of Shakespearian and vintage books, supported with floral bud vases, mercury glass votives and pictures of the couple. To provide a grand entrance, an aisle was formed with glass pillar candles, white rose petals and vintage lanterns.

The Proposal:

Anthony blindfolded Anna on the way to the proposal location so she would be completely surprised. When they arrived, he removed her blindfold and held her hand as he led her down the aisle. When the blindfold came off, you could see sheer joy in Anna's eyes as she saw what Anthony had planned for her. He got down on one knee, and popped the question!!

In pure shock Anna of course said yes!

Anthony and Anna looked at their sweet photos together and all the little details we made sure to incorporate.

After a mini session with our amazing photographer, Whitney Gremaud, the couple met Anthony's family at Sullivan's Steakhouse to celebrate their engagement.

We were so honored to be a part of this exciting proposal for such a sweet couple. We are so glad you found us all the way from New Jersey. Congratulation Anna + Anthony, we wish you a lifetime of happiness!

Ready to propose but don't know where to start or need help pulling it off? Contact us and let us help you pop the question!
