A Lakeside Park Proposal

Is anything more dreamier than a walk with your special someone through a local park, past a gorgeous lake, over a wooden bridge, and into a pavilion full of your friends and family awaiting your proposal!?

This dreamy proposal scenario was exactly what we had the pleasure to help support.

Pre planning

When Justin reached out to our team in March, he was so ready and excited to take this next step with his girlfriend Gerlisa. With a firm date and a location in mind, the HH jumped on our idea generation process and the magic ensued!

Setting the scene

Date- Check! Location- Check! Design planned- Check!

Our client Justin knew he wanted a gorgeous rooftop proposal. We designed our proposal with a gorgeous backdrop full of blush and gold accents ready to glisten in the rooftop air.

Always a step ahead, our team makes sure to double check on the location of the proposal location whether it is public or not to be sure all is well. Considering this date was an important hard date with family and friends traveling from out of town, we knew we wanted to be extra sure. Good thing we checked, because as it turns out the previous location's policy changed on Sundays and that day was no longer open and available to the public AND there was a chance of rain.

So the HH team, as you know, always has plan b options up our sleeves. We brought our other location idea to our client, and we all met there for a visit. It was at Pullen Park in Raleigh, NC.

The gorgeous walk past the lake and into the gazebo overlooking the lake and park made our client gleam when he saw this alternative! Justin knew the location was meant to be, not to mention the proposal would be under a covered gazebo on the chance it would rain still.

Which it didn’t!!! :)

The Details

What was the most important detail of this proposal for Justin? Wanting Gerlisa to be incredibly happy and knowing a key component to making that happen. That key element was their friends and family.

Justin knew how important these special people are in their lives and knew they needed to be a part of this big moment. A group of about twenty close friends and family joined us for this proposal, honored to be a part of this exciting occasion.

Our gold arbor with blush drapery, personalized hanging sign, gold vessel elements with floral designs and sprayed rose petals, along with this wonderful group awaited the soon to be engaged couple.

The Proposal:

Oh look, there they are! Someone spotted Justin and Gerlisa walking hand and hand across the park!

They make their way past the lake and over to the wooden bridge. When they were at the top of the bridge, a friend cued the music, and they walked across. As they near the end of the bridge, they see their friends and family.

Hand and hand still, they walk past their friends and family, and into the gazebo. As they near the arbor, the friends and family surround them, creating a truly intimate and special moment.

Then, Justin begins a short speech and then the moment we have been waiting for, he gets down on one knee and asks the big question!

With a very happy yes, everyone screams with joy!!! As the couple embraced with their loved ones, some sweet couple photos were taken of them, along with their friends and family. Afterwards, they continue the celebration with a dinner in downtown Raleigh.

Such an amazing moment that we were truly honored to be a part of. Congratulations Justin and Gerlisa!!
