Romantic Picnic Raleigh Proposal
We couldn't have picked a more perfect spot for Mayur and Tejal to get engaged, this proposal was filled with surprises, sweets and a cozy place to celebrate!
Pre- Planning
Mayur reached out to us with a lot of excitement and a whole idea of his own for his soon to be fiancé Tejal. The two have been apart due to covid, but she was finally able to fly into town and visit. Could you imagine being away from your love like that?!?
With a couple weeks to plan we quickly began piecing together details for his proposal.
Setting the Scene
Mayur shared that Tejal loves the outdoors and hiking as well as a fan of art and being near water. Mayur had his heart set on a sunflower field proposal. We quickly started 'Sunflower Watch 2021' at Dorthea Dix Park. A week before the proposal, the sunflowers weren't quite ready to bloom for proposal day. We luckly found a shaded area near the Flower Cottage at Dorthea Dix for our setting that had a beautiful view of the Raleigh Skyline. This area was right on the other side of the Sunflower field so just in case our flowers decided to join us, we would still be near to take advantage for some great photos.
The Details
A picnic idea began to form with bright and plush pillows to crisp white blankets. White and pink roses were arranged in modern white vases and gave a pop to the neutral set-up. Mayur selected some of his favorite photos to be incorporated into the scene. A white teepee adorned with baby’s breath finished the picnic layout with a cozy sitting area. To top it all off, song lyrics from Tejal’s favorite Frank Sinatra song was chosen for welcome signs on both sides of the blanket.
The Proposal
Mayur told Tejal they were going to brunch that Saturday morning. They made their way downtown to Dorthea Dix as a little detour. Little did Tejal know the surprise waiting for her. Mayur picked up some cupcakes and sparkling cider and they began their detour in the park. They both walked up to the picnic an enjoyed a sweet treet, soon after Mayur was down on one knee with the ring of Tejal’s dream asking her to marry him. Of course, she said yes!
Mayur and Tejal popped the sparkling cider and our photographer was there to catch it all. As luck would have it, some of the sunflowers bloomed that day and the couple enjoyed some special photos in the field before heading of to brunch and calling all of their loved ones.
